Now

Words of truth in my experience.  My default position is to be looking at what's coming next.  Another place where my thoughts can help me return to the present moment and experience my life as it's happening.  KAS

We Were All Humans

The thing is, we are all still humans regardless of race, religion, politics or status.  Our thoughts about these things make a difference.  I call malarky on this.  I'm not going to let some contrived way of thinking change how I see my neighbors on this planet.  Speaking of the planet..... KAS

Once Upon A Time

The sad reality is, our world seems to be singing a different song, these days.  It's more like a funeral dirge than a song of celebration which is heartbreaking.  Nonetheless, hearing the birds sing at dawn and dusk reminds me of what is good and right and true; things I continue to celebrate and to fight for as long as I live.  KAS

The Prettiest Thing About You

How about making my heart the strongest thing about me, the most courageous and the most empathetic to the plight of those less fortunate?  KAS

Love

There is much food for thought in these words and I'm still chewing on them.  Not sure about the not suffering.  Not sure about the not planning or the not pain.  Since love is another of those tired and overused words, I'm appreciating exploring all these nuances.  KAS

Joy

Joy is another of those overworked words I'm impatient with these days.  Delight.  Wonder.  Awe. Astonishment.  Satisfaction.  All of these are preferable substitutes, don't you think?  It's difficult to feel any of these knowing children are being detained in such wretched conditions in this country on this day.   KAS

If You Can

Who wants to be sour, surly, bitter or cynical?  Skeptical?  Yes.  But not cynical.  So the goal is sweet, cheerful, mild and hopeful?  Hmmmm.  Seems like there should be more interesting alternatives.  KAS

Misfits

If you've seen Bohemian Rhapsody, this may be familiar.  I saw it recently on a flight back from Wisconsin and loved it.  It was not at all what I expected.  I recommend it.  KAS

How do you handle a rainy day?

That doesn't mean anything is wrong with the way you handle these things.  It just means it says something about your approach to less than ideal occurrences.  In my opinion, rainy days can be most enjoyable.  KAS

Courage and Pain

This feels like an important point for all of us to remember about each other.  The problem is when someone is using our denied and ignored pain to pit us against each other.  That is wrong.  KAS

We Are All Humans

We are all still humans.  We don't have to let race or religion or politics or wealth divide us.  It's a manufactured division created by dubious forces. Who benefits from that?  We are all still humans.  KAS

Select Your Thoughts

So what shall I "wear" today?  What thoughts shall I put on?  How many layers will I need? I believe I'll select something colorful and happy.  KAS

Conquering Dark Places

Changing those entrenched thoughts takes great vigilance and an abundance of energy to turn them around.  You've got this!  Keep going!  KAS

How It's Bearable

Doesn't it seem sometimes that "love" is a tired word?  I looked up some alternatives--AFFECTION BASED ON ESTEEM or A LIVELY AND ENDURING INTEREST.  Two excellent three-word substitutes for a weary, overused one.  That's what happens when you try to express something uncontainable with small marks on a page. No Amount of Money

I sincerely hope "we the people" who live on this planet, can combine our collective voices into a power strong enough to overcome the forces working against what is right and good for our Earth. KAS

It Takes All Kinds

We each have one, singular purpose and that is to be our authentic selves.  No one else can do it for us. We're the only one who can do it to perfection.  KAS

Rules or Suggestions

I'm ambivalent about "rules".  I prefer to think of them as suggestions. Take or leave.  Your choice.  KAS

Life Is Art

I find this intimidating and inspiring.  As a "jeans and t-shirt" fashionista failure, it is intimidating.  However, seeing everything as art appeals to me because the energy and care put into something brings it to life.  KAS

Your Heart Is Hatching

I love the idea my heart is hatching rather than breaking.  It puts a completely different slant on painful times.  It still hurts but with a purpose.  KAS

Be an Irresistible Invitation to the Future

Good advice if you're in the mood for it.  Sometimes, you're not.  Sometimes, you simply want to be where you are, how you are without explanation or judgment. I say, "be you" because that is perfection.  KAS

Where To Find Happiness

Isn't it interesting that being happy is such a challenge?  Changing the way you think sounds like it would be easy but that has not been my experience.  Yet, it's definitely worth the effort.  KAS
