When he says "world," I think "Earth".  Many are doing this now but there is much, much learning and working to do and it doesn't appear we have a lot of time to do it.  Surely there's a way to ignite the power of the people to correct the trajectory!  KAS

I'm hoping to be contaminated with courage.  Watching Best of Enemies last night was a germ. KAS

May This Time

Change What We Cannot Accept

There is much that needs to change.  As our Earth is burning up, and our brothers and sisters are mistreated, We The People are being called to save our planet, our people, true justice and our freedom.  It's not a time for division and petty squabbles. It is a time for all people, regardless of race, religion, status or political persuasion to come together to make things fair and free FOR ALL.  If you listen very closely, behind all the noise and attempts to divert our attention, and divide our loyalties, We The People are gathering our forces to change what we can no longer accept.   KAS

This Is Better Than We Thought

It can be disconcerting to contemplate the unknown and the mysterious.  Far easier to be "certain" about things so you can be in control.  I believe we can do what's necessary to save our planet.  Even though humanity seems to be at great risk,  I hope solutions exist yet to be discovered and they lay right around the corner.  KAS

No Skipping Chapters

Hmmmmm.  This gives me food for thought.  While I get the point they're trying to make there are many books I stopped reading because I didn't enjoy the story or the characters. I don't always read every line because I'm a skimmer.  They teach you how to do that!  However, upon considering my life story, this offers a view which might be helpful going forward, especially when things aren't going smoothly.  KAS

Real Not Perfect

Who decides what perfect is anyway?  I've grappled with this all my life.  What I've come to believe is being "perfect" means being yourself authentically and wholeheartedly which is what "real" means. Perfectly Real.  It's not either/or, it's both/and.  KAS

Never Let Anyone Tell You

May I suggest you listen to a bit of Beethoven as you consider this thought?  It will help you overcome any limitations you may imagine.  Then go be your music.  kas

Don't Be Afraid

Or be afraid.  Acknowledge the fear and proceed anyway.  Courage is courage even when your hands shake and your voice trembles.  KAS

No shame in falling.  I don't agree the whole damn fire is necessary but go for it if you must.  In my world, simply getting back up and shining is more than sufficient.  KAS

Feed It Hope, Truth, Love

This should be something easy to do.  Who doesn't want to live only in thoughts of hope, truth, and love? Problem is, fear breeds strong, insatiable, greedy tentacles determined to banish them.  Every time fear comes along to invade my thoughts, I will notice and remember to concentrate on these three plants growing on the windowsill of my heart and mind.  I will focus all my attention on keeping them alive and vibrant and growing.   KAS

Hope. Truth. Love
What does Hope look like? How does it feel from the inside out?
It radiates, it gleams, it glows,
It is warm and magnetic and contagious.
It is a globe, a sphere, a circle of substance and light.
It is wide open, magnanimous, courageous and quietly powerful.
It is a warm cape with a mighty shield.
It rides bareback upon a powerful mare with unquenchable determination to learn from the dark and ride in the light.
At times darkness is its friend for it clarifies and distills what is right, benevolent, merciful and just.
Truth is a Boulder. Stalwart, secure, immovable. Facing the onslaught of oceans, shaping the mountains, forming waterfalls, containing rivers.   Humans may attempt to move, manipulate, and hide its message but it will be here when they have departed. 
Love, an overused word carrying endless significance, eternal energy, powerful paradoxes, buckets of tears, shared laughter, intimate conversations, companionable silences, mutual respect, Frail bravery, vulnerable dignity, regal resilience, tender fury, deeply rooted justice, and quaking faith in its power. 
Love is the water that flows downhill--cleansing and renewing, joining with tributaries, gathering momentum. Providing sustenance to plants and humans, carrying the cargo of humanity bringing life and the promise of hope and truth. 

Worthy!

I sincerely needed to hear these words at this very moment.  It's an ongoing challenge to take them in and carry them forward. KAS

Isn't Yours To Carry

As someone trained to feel responsible for everything, especially when things go wrong, this is important to remember.  So, next time I feel weighed down by something, I'll ask myself if it's really mine.  This raises an irony because the other side of this is about recognizing when I'm waiting for someone else to carry what really is mine.  It's easy to defer to and hand off choices to "authority" figures both real and perceived.  True freedom comes with a responsibility that can be challenging as it requires taking a risk, assuming responsibility, and bearing the consequences of our choices. This calls for self-compassion because being a grownup is no small feat.  I'm still working on it.  KAS

Decide

How's this for a daily challenge?  May the decision we make bring more compassion, true justice for all, mutual respect between human beings and the protection of Mother Earth. KAS
