While Octavia Butler's books have been around for a while,
they're new to me.
I'm not a fan of sci fi nor of
dystopian stories.
However, her book, Parable of the Sower,
has given me much to think about,
amidst the hard, dark details of her fiction.
I enjoy her inner questioning
and her thoughtful comments
on matters of god and religion,
human nature and human society.
I'm glad I pushed past my reluctance.
I wanted to dismiss her
but find it impossible to do so.
