Who knew this would be so challenging?
Refusing to talk, even to myself, is HARD!
Yet, I feel captured by this entreaty.
Determined to heed its wisdom as
restrictions are lifted by the vaccine.
The pull is strong, to hold unto the retreat atmosphere.
To preserve the silent, solitary habit
stealthily laid down over the past year.
To continue to practice being alone with myself.
To learn what lies hidden beneath the surface.
