These words made me take a very long pause.
They made me ask myself if I am growing up.
They made me ask myself if I've taken responsibility
for the "time I take up" and the "space I occupy".
It raises tension within me as I feel the oh so familiar tug
of the "you're not good enough" refrain.
Who defines what it means to grow up?
Whose call is that to make?
That's where digging down into my own
wilderness and writing my own definition
of growing up comes into play.
