This braids together with
the recent post about
He saw the black of space as death,
which is accurate
as encountering darkness
is a death to all we were before.
Rilke's poem gives the dark void
a deeper and even inviting dimension.
"Darkness holds it all."
Even though it feels
scary and overwhelming,
I welcome "its great strength,
breaking into my body".
Although, I confess,
it's not without trepidation.
