Mary Oliver continues to provide
solace and inspiration for me each morning.
I love the idea that even if my spirit carries
"a thorn heavier than lead"
there is "deep within a beast shouting
that the earth is exactly what it wanted."
While there is no pond of lilies at the moment,
there was a red tail hawk spiraling
against the crystal blue sky two days ago.
I was convinced s/he saw me watching
and put on he/r own lavish performance.
